The early identification of children with suspected developmental delays requires a multimodal, interdisciplinary approach. Our practice provides one prong of this assessment through early identification of markers associated with pervasive developmental delays. This basic assessment utilizes clinical interview, behavioral observation, and standardized testing/rating scales to highlight potential deficits in adaptive, social, communication, and motor functioning. If this assessment identifies significant markers, efforts will be made by the Evaluation Center to help provide linkages with schools, medical facilities, and specialized community treatment providers.
